Baseball: Red Sox win World Series
Boston Red Sox players celebrate their World Series victory after beating the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1 in Game 5 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on Oct. 28, 2018. The Dodgers were hoping to bring home their first World Series title since 1988, while the Sox were hoping to add to their trophy collection. The Red Sox famously went over 100 years without a World Series win, which spanned from 1918 all the way to 2004 when the curse was finally broken.
The Red Sox went on to show that they’re a club of championship caliber by winning the World Series again in 2007 and 2013, capping it off with another title in 2018. The Dodgers would later finally get their long awaited World Series win in 2020 against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. In a twist, 2018 Red Sox star Mookie Betts helped lift the team over the Dodgers. But he was traded to L.A. before the 2020 season, and turned around to help the boys in blue win their first World Series since 1988.
