The Voice – Winners
Since the show’s premiere in April 2011, ‘The Voice’ has given a platform to some of the newest voices in the music industry. With coaches the likes of Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend, it’s difficult to imagine that the winners of this show don’t go on to have incredibly successful careers. Of course, it’s a lot of hard work to break into the music industry. And these previous ‘Voice’ champions know that all too well! A slew of these artists have been working hard in the studio since their win, trying to maintain the momentum and fan base that got them the trophy since their time on the reality series! Regardless of what genre they’re working in, these rising music stars are putting in the work to make their dreams a reality. Javier Colon
Javier Colon won season 1 of ‘The Voice’ on team Adam Levine, which included a record deal with Universal Republic Records. He released one album on the label, but parted ways with them in 2012 because he felt they did not give his album it the promotion and marketing it deserved. He joined Concord Music Group in 2014 and dropped another album in 2016.
Jermaine Paul
With Blake Shelton as his coach, Jermaine Paul won the second season of ‘The Voice.’ Unfortunately, Jermaine did not find much success after the show, and never even released a full studio album of his own.
Cassadee Pope
Blake Shelton helped Cassadee Pope become a country artist on Season 3 of ‘The Voice.’ She released her first solo studio album, ‘Frame By Frame,’ in Oct. 2013, and it reached No. 1 on the country charts. In 2016, she and Chris Young released a duet called “Think of You,” and it was nominated for a Grammy. She released an EP in 2016 and is currently working on her next album.
Danielle Bradbury
Blake Shelton nabbed another win with a female country artist thanks to Danielle Bradbery of season 4. She signed a deal with Big Machine Records right after winning the show, and her first single, “Heart of Dixie,” came out the very next month, and her debut album in Nov. 2013. Danielle has toured with stars like Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert and Thomas Rhett, and her second album is due out in Dec. 2017.
Tessanne Chin
Tessanne Chin gave Adam Levine his second win on season 5 of ‘The Voice.’ In the following months, she booked some big performances, including one at the White House in front of Barack Obama. She dropped her debut album, ‘Count on my Love,’ in July 2014, and is currently working on new music. Her upcoming album, still untitled with no release date, is expected to include a collaboration with T.I.
Josh Kaufman
Josh Kaufman gave Usher his first win on ‘The Voice.’ He did release a six-song record in 2016, but has not had much acclaimed success as an artist since the show. He starred in Broadway’s ‘Pippin’ for a short stint.
Craig Wayne Boyd
After winning season 7 of ‘The Voice’ on Blake Shelton’s team, Craig Wayne Boyd signed a deal with Universal Republic and Dot Records. However, it wasn’t long before he parted ways with Dot. His first post-‘Voice’ album is due out in Oct. 2017.
Sawyer Fredericks
Despite not wanting fame after winning season 8 of ‘The Voice,’ Sawyer Fredericks signed a deal with Republic Records. He released an EP in Nov. 2015 and his first studio album in May 2016. In Jan. 2017, Sawyer revealed he parted ways with his label, and would be continuing as an independent artist. His album, ‘Hide You Ghost,’ is due out before the end of 2017, and he is also touring this year.
Jordan Smith
Jordan Smith released his debut album just three months after winning ‘The Voice.’ However, his biggest success came at the end of 2016, with the release and promotion of his Christmas album ”Tis The Season,’ for which he performed on several major networks during televised holiday events. He also got married in June 2016.
Alisan Porter
Christina Aguilera finally got a win on ‘The Voice’ thanks to former child star Alisan Porter on season 10. Unfortunately, Alisan has not put out any major music since winning the show.
Sundance Head
Sundance Head has competed on both ‘American Idol’ and ‘The Voice,’ winning the latter in 2016. Still, he hasn’t had any post-show success. His coach on season 12 of ‘The Voice’ was Blake Shelton.
Chloe Kohanski
Chloe Kohanski was the winner of season 13, but has yet to release any music of her own. She was coached by Blake Shelton during her time on the show.
Chris Blue
Chris Blue won ‘The Voice’ season 12, and debuted his first single during season 13 of the show. His coach was Alicia Keys; he’s currently working on new music with his team.
Brynn Caretlli
Brynn won season 14 of ‘The Voice’ in 2018 at the age of 15-years-old! She was coached by Kelly Clarkson and has yet to release new music.
Chevel Shepher
Chevel Shepherd won season 15 of ‘The Voice.’ Her coach was Kelly Clarkson and she has yet to release new music. Her most notable performance since winning ‘The Voice’ came when she performed ‘God Bless America’ at the Indianapolis 500 in May 2019.
Maelyn Jarmon
Maelyn Jarmon won season 16 of ‘The Voice.’ Her coach was John Legend. Since her win, she has been working on alternative-pop music in the studio.
Jake Hoot
Jake Hoot won season 17 of ‘The Voice’ under the guidance of Kelly Clarkson. He just released his new single ‘I Would’ve Loved You’ with Kelly Clarkson.
Todd Tilghman
Todd Tilghman was crowned the season 18 champion. He released his new single ‘In a Heartbreak’ in Feb. 2021.
Carter Rubin
Carter Rubin was the winner of ‘The Voice’ season 19. He told HL that he’s looking ahead to creating future albums and possibly getting into acting.
