The Strokes is one of the most famous indie rock bands of the 2000’s. The band — made up of five NYC friends-turned-bandmates Julian Casablancas, Nick Valensi, Albert Hammond Jr., Nikolai Fraiture and Fabrizio Moretti — formed in 1998 and released their debut album, Is This It, in 2001. With hits like “Last Nite,” “Someday” and “Is This It,” the record went multiplatinum, and led to their sophomore album “Room on Fire” in 2003.

The Strokes’ released three subsequent albums afterwards, although there was a six-year wait between their third album First Impressions of Earth (2005) and Angles (2011), and a seven-year wait between their fourth album Comedown Machine (2013) and The New Abnormal (2020). Between that time, they released an EP called Future Present Past in 2016.  Following the release of their most recent album, The Strokes was set for a big comeback year in 2020, but their planned North American tour got postponed to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
