This awesome homage took place at the 30th annual Easter Bonnet Competition, where Broadway casts perform musical tributes like this one. The competition marks the end of a six-week fundraising streak for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, and $5.5 million was raised this year!
The Hamilton cast also paid tribute to the late icon Prince last week at the end of a performance by having a dance party to “Let’s Go Crazy” on stage. Lin said, “Rest in peace, Prince,” and the house band played the song as the cast broke out into a wild dance party on stage. Amazing!
