‘Love & Marriage: Huntsville’ is an OWN unscripted series that stars three wealthy, black couples who live in Huntsville, Alabama. It features Melody and Martell Holt and their friends Marsau and LaTisha Scott, plus newlyweds Maurice Scott and Kimmi Grant. In Season 1 of the hit show self-made real estate developers Melody and Martell wrestled with the reality of his cheating, which rocked their marriage to its core. In fact the couple’s marital problems were openly discussed with their friends, on-camera. At one point in Season 1 at a rather awkward dinner party Melody insisted that there is a ‘respectful’ way to cheat on your partner. For Melody that includes the mistress not calling the husband’s home or texting him. ‘You’re not trying to be all up in their city where they live,’ she said. ‘You know, there’s just a certain way still to be respectful.’
As for whether she would put up with her husband’s affair, Melody hinted at their uncertain future – and a storyline that has kept fans gripped – by saying, ‘I feel like, if you’re going to continue to cheat, that means that you’re not happy with me. There’s something else you’re wanting. There’s something you’re missing. So I’ll say, well, you know what? Go ahead and enjoy that.’
