Princess Anne
Princess Anne, born in August 1950, is the second child and only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. The Princess has had a storied life as a royal. She has been married twice and is mother to two children, Zara and Peter. She also once foiled her own kidnapping by standing her ground and holding her own against the man who would have been her kidnapper. Princess Anne has been a defiant member of the royal family, as seen on December 3, 2019 when she refused to greet President Donald Trump upon his visit to Buckingham palace. Princess Anne has bee known to love the sport Equestrian and serves as the president to an association for the sport. The Service will give thanks for The Duke of Edinburgh’s dedication to family, Nation and Commonwealth and recognise the importance of his legacy in creating opportunities for young people, promoting environmental stewardship and conservation, and supporting the Armed Forces.
The Service will in particular pay tribute to The Duke of Edinburgh’s contribution to public life and steadfast support for the over 700 charitable organisations with which His Royal Highness was associated throughout his life.
