Susan Sarandon is an award-winning American actress and activist. She began her career in the 1970 film Joe and continued to star in F. Scott Fitzgerald and ‘The Last of the Belles and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It was her role as Sally Matthews in Atlantic City which she received her first Oscar nomination for Best Actress. she went on to be nominated for Thelma & Louise (1991), Lorenzo’s Oil (1992), and The Client (1994), before winning for Dead Man Walking in 1995. Susan is also a six-time Primetime Emmy nominee for her guest-starring roles in Friends and Malcolm In The Middle, as well for her roles in Bernard and Doris and Feud. In addition to her extensive film and TV career, Susan Sarandon is also a philanthropist and activist. She was appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 1999 and received the Action Against Hunger Humanitarian Award in 2006.
