It’s a sad day in the fashion industry as legendary designer, Mary Quant, has passed away at the of 93 in her home in Surrey, UK on April 13. Hailed as the creator of the mini skirt, Mary was also responsible for all of the Carnaby Street “mod” fashion looks. The designer had a huge influence on all of the fashion trends set off by The Beatles & other huge ’60s pop stars. Mary’s vision had a huge impact on the ’60s fashion trends and she opened up her first shop, called Bazaar, in Kings Road in 1955. Her family released a statement, announcing that she, “died peacefully at home in Surrey, UK this morning.” Her family also went on to call her, “one of the most internationally recognised fashion designers of the 20th Century and an outstanding innovator.” We rounded up photos of Mary & her designs throughout the ears and you can see the photos when you scroll through the gallery.
