The memorial was unveiled during the annual Bayeux-Calvados war journalism award week. The prizes were created in 1994 in honour of the 50th anniversary of the Allied landing. James Foley was murdered in August 2014 at the hands of Islamic State jihadists. Camille Lepage, a 28-year-old freelance photographer, was murdered in Central African Republic in May 2014
