Over the weekend, main cast member of Bravo TV’s The Real Housewives of New York City, Sonja Morgan, dined at the beloved Italian restaurant, Via Sophia, located within Washington D.C.’s iconic Hamilton Hotel. Sonja was accompanied by three people, and they enjoyed a bottle of Veuve Cliquot, Foie Gras and Budino before making a club appearance at Phantom Lounge D.C.

Betty White’s wax figure at Madame Tussauds
The comedic icon and philanthropist, Betty White, passed on December 31, at 99 years-old, days away from her 100th birthday. To celebrate her inspiring life and charismatic personality, Madame Tussauds Hollywood honored the actress on what would have been her 100th birthday by supporting her passion: animal welfare. Madame Tussauds, along with Pink’s Hot Dogs, rallied White’s fans to celebrate her life while inviting guests to take photos with her identical wax figure and enjoy her favorite meal – hot dogs. Any dollar amount was accepted in exchange for one of Pink’s “Betty White’s ‘Naked Dog,’” and proceeds were donated to the LA Zoo as part of the #bettywhitechallenge.

MJ Rodriguez, the first trans actress to win a Golden Globe award, celebrated her birthday on Saturday January 8th at The West Hollywood EDITION. Joined by close friends and family, the Pose star kicked off the evening with cocktails at the hotels buzzing Lobby Bar before heading to Chef John Fraser’s Ardor for an intimate vegetable-forward feast.

Kelsey Grammer, hosted a Meet & Greet with fans and guests at Mountain Creek Resort in Vernon, NJ on Saturday, January 15.
Grammer visited the resort to promote his two new beers, Faith American Ale & Faith American IPA, at the resort’s Biergarten. He arrived at the resort at about 1pm, bundled up in a blue Faith American Brewing Company jacket and accompanying black Faith American Brewing Company hat, gray scarf and black winter gloves. Grammer was present serving drinks, signing autographs, talking shop and taking pictures with guests and fans before departing around 5pm.

Ellie Goulding joined co-founder Alex Schulze for an important cleanup as part of the 4Ocean’s Osborne Reef recovery project off the coast of Ft. Lauderdale. The multi-platinum singer songwriter, two-time Grammy nominee and ambassador for the United Nations Environment Program. In October 2021 she addressed global leaders at COP26 in Glasgow, speaking passionately about the role of nature based solutions in halting the climate crisis. In a special New York Times interview with ecologist David de Rothschild she discussed the role of oceans in climate protection and how to boost marine reserves worldwide. Ellie is a tireless campaigner on behalf of the Earth, she has been on expeditions with WWF to the world’s fastest retreating glaciers, and with the UN to witness how plastic pollution is impacting the Kenyan Coast. In 2020 Ellie worked to remove single use plastic where possible from the supply chain of her critically acclaimed album Brightest Blue. Her recent 2021 tour was powered by renewable energy and established new green standards to venues in the UK.

Baccarat presents “Too Black Too Fast”
As part of the 2022 Pegasus World Cup, Baccarat presents “Too Black Too Fast”, a curated art exhibition that celebrates the history and contribution of African American jockeys in Thoroughbred horse racing through visual art and portraiture. Leading up to the 2022 Pegasus World Cup and in advance of Black History Month, “Too Black Too Fast” will debut on Saturday, January 22, and run until mid-February 2022 at the Historic Ward Rooming House Gallery in the Overtown neighborhood of Miami. The exhibit will be available for public viewing every Thursday to Sunday from noon until 6:00 P.M. Admission is free. In addition, pieces from the exhibit will also be on display at Gulfstream Park during the Pegasus World Cup on January 29.
Baccarat presents “Too Black Too Fast”
With multimedia pieces from sculptor George Nock and visual artist Michael J. McBride, the exhibit tells the story of Black jockeys, who played an integral role in the history of Thoroughbred horse racing. More than 200 years before Jackie Robinson took to the baseball field, Black jockeys dominated the “Sport of Kings”. As enslaved men, they were the ones who knew the horses best, so they were the original trainers and jockeys. Though slavery had been abolished by the time the Kentucky Derby first ran, 13 of the 15 jockeys in the inaugural race in 1875 were African American, and African Americans won 15 of the first 28 runnings (of the Kentucky Derby).
