Malia Obama was born on July 4, 1998 in Chicago, IL to President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle. She was thrust into the spotlight as a young girl, with her father becoming President of the United States in 2009, when she was just 11-years-old. She completed her high school education at the prestigious Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., along with her younger sister Sasha.
After graduation, she pursued her post-secondary degree at Harvard University in Boston, MA. Initially, Malia majored in film ultimately deciding to study but later switched her degree to Visual and Environmental Studies. She graduated from Harvard in 2021 and is now working as a writer on Donald Glover’s Amazon series ‘Hive’.
