Thousands of students around the world took part in the Global Climate Strikes on March 15, 2019, demanding that their governments take action against climate change and just do something, anything, to ensure our planet survives. The youth activists, inspired by 16-year-old environmental protestor Greta Thunberg of Sweden, carried signs, rallied, and chanted to get the attention of the adults in charge, making it clear that they won’t let them dictate their future. Their demands were simple: just literally acknowledge that climate change is a rapidly deteriorating problem, and start the process of attempting to heal the planet before it’s too late.
