Garry Shandling
One of the most classic names under the umbrella of American comedy is none other than t Garry Shandling. The legendary stand-up comedian, actor, director and producer was born in Santa Monica, California in 1949, and sadly passed away in March 2016 from an artery blockage in the lungs. Today, his iconic work has not, and never will be, forgotten.
Shandling is best known for his two TV series, It’s Garry Shandling’s Show and The Larry Sanders Show, both of which were nominated for Emmy Awards and Golden Globes. Shandling was often a recipient of awards for his work, and attended many red carpet affairs looking handsome, including in this photo upon his arrival at the 2014 Paley Icon Award celebration in Beverly Hills. Some of his best achievements were winning two American Comedy Awards for Funniest Male Performance in a Comedy Series, along with over 20 film roles and various other awards.
