According to the American Foundation For Suicide Prevention, suicide is the tenth leading cause of death in the United States and in 2018, a whopping 48,344 Americans died by suicide.
Celebrities have also been a part of these suicide statistics. In 2017, Chester Bennington of Linkin Park hanged himself, in 2019 Kpop singer Goo Hara killed herself, and in 2013 actress Jiah Khan hanged herself.

Suicide prevention is simply a collection of efforts executed to reduce the risk of suicide.

Some ways in which we can help the suicide prevention movement is by treating mental illness, improving the coping strategies of at-risk people, and reducing poverty.

Believe it or not, some of the biggest supporters of suicide prevention have also been some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Celebrities like Demi Lovato, Tyler Oakley, and Ed Sheeran have all stepped out at some point to share their own stories, and do whatever they could for the cause and people in need.
