Britney has led a very public life since she burst onto the music scene in the late 1990s. From becoming one of the most famous pop singers in the world, to going through hard times in her personal life, the spotlight had been big around her.
After her conservatorship started in the midst of hard times with the paparazzi and more in 2008, her dad Jamie was in charge of her estate and the situation gained a lot of attention. Her fans started the #FreeBritney movement, which aimed at her being freed from the conservatorship when she was once again able to fend for herself after going to therapy for years. She was finally freed from it on Nov. 12, 2021.

After making her stage debut when she was five, Britney Spears got her first big break as a cast member on ‘The Mickey Mouse Club’ in 1992. She starred in the show alongside Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, and Ryan Gosling.

Just six months later, Britney got engaged to Kevin Federline after only knowing him for three months. His ex, Shar Jackson, was pregnant with the pair’s second child at the time he got together with Britney. Britney and Kevin got married in Sept. 2004.

After taking a career break in Oct. 2004, Britney gave birth to her and Kevin’s first child, son Sean, in August 2005. She appeared to truly love motherhood.

After attempting treatment at multiple facilities, Britney lost physical custody of Sean and Jayden in Oct. 2007. Kevin went on to gain custody.
Britney Spears’ Breakdown In 2008
Britney had a total breakdown in January 2008. When she refused to give Sean and Jayden back to Kevin, police were called to her home, resulting in a three-hour standoff, two-day hospitalization and five-day stay in the psych ward of UCLA Medical Center. She lost visitation rights and Kevin was given sole physical and legal custody of the kids. Her father was also granted a temporary conservatorship, which later became permanent.

By the 2008 VMAs, things seemed to be going back to normal — Britney had a big night, taking home awards for Best Femlae Video, Best Pop Video and Video of the Year.
Britney Spears’ Engagement To Jason Trawick
Britney got engaged to Jason Trawick, her former agent, in Dec. 2011. Unfortunately, they broke up in Jan. 2013.
