Ben is known as an American politician and former neurosurgeon. He graduated from Yale University and the University of Michigan Medical School before completing his residency in neurosurgery at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD in the early 1980s. He worked as a neurosurgeon until his retirement in 2013.
Ben went onto take an interest in politics after participating in various political events and decided to run as a Republican candidate in the 2016 presidential race. He announced his campaign and participated in some debates but withdrew from the race in Mar. 2016.
After Donald Trump’s presidential win, Ben joined his team as Vice Chairman and eventually took on the job as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development after being officially elected in 2017.
In addition to his work in neurosurgery and politics, Ben has worked as an author, releasing various books about his experience as well as self help titles. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2008.
