‘Barkskins’ is a new limited series that premieres May 25 on National Geographic. The series is based on the New York Times bestselling novel of the same name by Pulitzer Prize-winner Annie Proulx. ‘Barkskins’ follows a ‘disparate group of outcasts and dreamers battling to escape their pasts while navigating the brutal frontier hardships, competing interests, and tangled loyalties at the crossroads of civilization: the New World.’ The show stars David Thewlis as Claude Trepagny, Marcia Gay Harden as Mathilde Geffard, Aneurin Barnard as Hamish Goames, James Bloor Dunkirk as Charles Duquet, Christian Cooke as Rene Sel, David Wilmot as Constable Bouchard, Thomas M. Kaniehtiio ‘Tiio’ Horn
Kaniehtiio Horn stars as Mari. She is a French and Wendat Nation woman who lives with Trepagny and suspects he is planning to marry a French Filles du Roi.
David Thewlis
David Thewlis stars as Claude Trepagny. Claude is a wealthy landowner with grand visions for New France.
Christian Cooke
Christian Cooke stars as Rene Sel. Rene is an uncynical and morally sound indentured servant to Trepagny.
Christian Cooke & James Bloor
Christian Cooke and James Bloor star as Rene Sel and Charles Duquet. Charles is a scrappy, industrious scoundrel signed to servitude under Trepagny.
Aneurin Barnard & Zahn McClarnon
Aneurin Barnard and Zahn McClarnon star as Hamish Goames and Yvon. Hamish is a mysterious agent of the Hudson Bay Company and Yvon is a Harvard-educated Anishinaabe (Ojibwe) man of the Hudson Bay Company.
