Fans were devastated to learn that 5 Seconds Of Summer was forced to cancel a few upcoming appearances because Ashton Irwin is in the hospital! See what they're saying on Twitter. Ashton Irwin, 20, is in the hospital with appendicitis, 5 Second Of Summer announced on their website on Oct. 15. Immediately upon hearing the sad news, fans took to Twitter to share their concerns and wish Ashton well!

Ashton Irwin: 5 Seconds Of Summer Drummer In Hospital — Band Releases Statement

On their official website, the band posted this for their fans to read, “Hi guys, we have some news for you today. Ashton has come down with a case of appendicitis and had to have an operation. He’s doing great and will be back up & running in no time, but he’ll need to rest up for the next week or so… Unfortunately this means that we’ll no longer be able to fly back to the UK this weekend for the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards. We will also be postponing next week’s trip to Japan (more info to come soon).”

While we are sad to hear that 5SOS had to cancel a few upcoming apperances, we’re so relieved that Ashton is expected to make a full recovery!

We hope that Ashton feels better soon!
