If there’s one thing you don’t do when you’re on SNL, it’s curse! Ariana broke the golden rule within about 15 minutes of opening her episode, which may be a new record! During a rousing musical number in her monologue, called “What Will My Scandal Be?” the singer muses about all the grown-up controversies she might have one day, something much larger and more serious than donut-licking!

It’s ironic that in a song about scandals, Ariana manages to create a small one of her own! Singing the hilarious lyrics “maybe I’ll puke in a pool/or pimp slap Adele,” Ariana immediately gives the camera wide eyes and says “oh sh*t.” Yeah, that’s what we were thinking, too! It’s unclear what prompted her to say it, because it doesn’t really seem like she messed up any lyrics; she stayed on beat the whole time. But it’s clear that it wasn’t scripted. The rest of Ariana’s hosting gig went off with a hitch. Playing double duty as musical guest, too, Ariana crushed two performances of “Dangerous Woman” and “Be Alright.” She also wowed us with an incredible Jennifer Lawrence impression. Flub aside, it was a great night!
