The 2019 Apple Event was full of surprises, but nothing compared to the segment about Apple TV+, their new streaming service. A ton of celebrities attended the March 25 event at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, CA, to announce their new shows that will stream on the platform.
Steve Carell, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston talked about their program, “The Morning Show”, which focuses on the behind the scenes life of a morning news program. Steve plays a “bold and dynamic” anchor, and while Reese and Jennifer didn’t reveal their characters, they said they were “aspirational females.”

They didn’t mention it onstage, but “The Morning Show” is inspired by journalist Brian Stelter’s book “Top of the Morning”, which is about “The Today Show”. Reese called the show “a high-velocity thrill ride in which we pose questions without easy answers.”
