From competing on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ to a flourishing music career, Alaska 5000 is definitely one to watch.

With a loud “Hiiiiiiiiiiiiii,” she burst upon the pop culture landscape. Alaska 5000 (aka Alaska Thunderf*ck) competed on the fifth season of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race,’ airing in 2013, underneath the name ALASKA. The Pittsburgh native showed the talent that would endear her to millions of fans, with humor (she won the Fragrance challenge), style (won the Ball challenge, too), and sass. Though she failed to clinch the crown in Season 5, she returned to ‘Drag Race’ in 2016 as part of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars’ season 2, defeating the fierce competition to be the second inductee to RuPaul’s ‘Drag Race Hall of Fame.’
Alaska’s charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent has spread beyond ‘Drag Race.’ In 2015, she released her first album, ‘Anus,’ and has since followed it up with ‘Poundcake’ and ‘Vagina.’ Since 2018, she and Willam Belli, another ‘Drag Race’ alum, have hosted the ‘Race Chaser’ podcast, and in 2020, the two partnered with Forever Dog to launch the Moguls of Media (MOM) podcast channel.
